Director of Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead our retail division within a well‑established construction‑related brand. Based in Cork, you will be responsible for driving performance, profitability and exceptional customer service across both retail and trade channels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient performance.
• Achieve sales, margin and profitability targets.
• Maintain high standards of customer service for retail and trade customers.
• Coach, develop and inspire staff to build a high‑performance culture.
• Oversee stock control, merchandising, inventory accuracy and supplier coordination.
• Manage budgets, staffing levels and operational costs.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of managerial experience in a construction‑related environment.
• Strong commercial awareness with a proven track record of meeting sales and profitability goals.
• Excellent leadership, team management and staff development abilities.
• A business‑related degree.
• Proactive, commercially minded and capable of balancing operational performance with team development.
