Electrical Design Engineer – Dublin (Permanent)

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading M&E contractor in Dublin. You will be involved in the complete electrical design lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning and hand‑over, working on large‑scale engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate LV electrical designs, power distribution, lighting, containment and small power systems.
• Produce fire alarm, emergency lighting, life‑safety, earthing and bonding solutions.
• Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, calculations and technical schedules.
• Prepare specifications, design documentation and conduct technical reviews.
• Support RFIs, submittals and construction‑stage design queries.
• Coordinate BIM models, resolve clashes and ensure buildability.
• Collaborate with consultants, clients, subcontractors and on‑site teams.
• Assist commissioning, hand‑over and delivery teams to ensure practical, compliant designs.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in building services, M&E or complex construction projects.
• Familiarity with sectors such as data centres, life sciences, pharma, industrial, commercial, renewables or critical infrastructure is a plus.
• Strong electrical judgement and a practical, solution‑focused mindset.
