Engineering Manager

About the role

This is a senior Engineering Manager position with one of Ireland's largest FMCG manufacturers. The role leads the engineering function across a multi‑site operation, covering continuous improvement, projects, maintenance, facilities, health & safety, budgeting and contractor management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strategic development programme for site infrastructure, process and production capability.
• Deliver capital investment projects on time and within budget.
• Manage all site and legislative requirements for equipment, pressure systems and lifting equipment.
• Produce detailed asset performance reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Ensure financial controls, audit compliance and departmental budgeting.
• Plan resources to meet time, cost and quality targets and build contingency plans.
• Negotiate with external contractors, monitor performance against SLAs and conduct regular reviews.
• Administer the permit‑to‑work system and enforce safe systems of work.
• Lead root‑cause analysis of maintenance activities and drive continuous improvement using lean techniques.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Project Manager in a large FMCG or food production environment.
• Strong track record of delivering capital projects and managing multi‑disciplinary engineering teams.
• Demonstrated ability to handle budgets, health & safety compliance and contractor relationships.
