Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a well‑established organisation. The role will ensure accurate reporting, strong financial controls and provide commercial insight to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial reporting and year‑end statutory accounts.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Oversee financial controls, balance‑sheet reconciliations, cash‑flow and working‑capital management.
• Ensure compliance with tax, audit and statutory reporting requirements.
• Partner with operational teams to improve profitability, cost control and overall business performance.
• Deliver financial analysis, KPI reporting and commercial insight for informed decision‑making.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, reporting and internal processes.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant post‑qualification experience in a senior finance leadership role.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, engineering or similar operational sectors is highly desirable.
• Proven leadership and people‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
