About the role
The Food and Beverage Host is the first point of contact for guests, representing the brand by greeting visitors, managing reservations, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere throughout the restaurant. The role supports the restaurant manager in maximizing seating efficiency and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.
Key responsibilities
- Greet guests in person or by phone, escort them to tables, and present menus.
- Answer the restaurant telephone courteously and handle reservations, cancellations, and confirmations.
- Maintain the host/hostess station with necessary supplies and report any shortages.
- Inspect the dining area, entrance, and table settings to ensure compliance with brand standards.
- Coordinate with servers during service to optimize table set‑ups and seating flow.
- Record guest preferences in the Springer Miller system and communicate VIP arrivals or special requests to relevant staff.
- Assist the restaurant manager in preparing the venue for service and in daily seat‑planning.
Required profile
- Valid food handling certificate.
- Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and handle cash transactions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Capability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
- Experience using the Springer Miller reservation system.
