Food & Beverage Host – Guest Services

About the role

The Food & Beverage Host is the first point of contact for guests, representing the brand with courteous greetings, both by phone and in person. The host ensures smooth seating, manages reservations, and maintains the restaurant’s appearance to meet hotel standards.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly, escort them to tables, and present menus.
• Answer the restaurant telephone, take and confirm reservations, and maintain the reservation book.
• Prepare and keep the host station stocked and clean; report any shortages.
• Inspect the dining area, entrance, tables, menus, and wine lists for cleanliness and correct setup.
• Assist the Restaurant Manager in maximizing seating capacity and coordinate with Front of House.
• Communicate VIP arrivals, special requests, and guest preferences to relevant staff.
• Guide servers on table set‑up needs during service.
• Maintain positive guest relations and ensure courteous departures.

Required profile

• Valid food handling certificate.
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Capability to understand and anticipate guest service needs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
• Experience using the Springer Miller reservation system.
