Front of House Host – Bar & Restaurant

About the role

The Quays Bar & Restaurant in Galway is looking for a friendly and confident Front of House Host to be the first point of contact for guests. You will help create a welcoming atmosphere, promote the venue’s food and drink offering, and support the smooth flow of service.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and manage the waiting area.
• Provide information on menus, daily specials and beverage selections.
• Assist the front‑of‑house team with table turnover and guest enquiries.
• Promote the venue’s food and beverage options in an approachable manner.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude throughout service.

Required profile

• Friendly, confident and comfortable speaking with the public.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Outgoing, enthusiastic and well‑presented.
• Previous experience in hospitality, retail or other customer‑facing roles is an advantage.
• Positive attitude, team‑player and flexible to work evenings and weekends.
