General Maintenance Operative – Full Time

About the role

The Gleneagle Group is looking for a reliable General Maintenance Operative to keep its hotel and entertainment complex running smoothly. You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager, handling day‑to‑day repairs, responding to requests, and supporting improvement projects in a fast‑paced, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance tasks such as basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and minor repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from all hotel departments.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment, fixtures and public areas.
• Support planned preventative maintenance programmes.
• Assist with setup and maintenance for events, functions and seasonal operations.
• Maintain tools, equipment and workshop areas in good working order.
• Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to deliver a high standard of service.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a general maintenance, facilities or similar role.
• Strong practical problem‑solving abilities.
• Positive, can‑do attitude with a commitment to high standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends when required.
• A trade qualification (plumbing, electrical, carpentry) is an advantage but not essential.
