Health & Safety Manager – Major Construction Project in Cork

About the role

Oradeo Recruitment is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a leading Tier 1 construction contractor on a major project in Cork. You will provide direct operational support to project teams, ensuring that health, safety, environmental, quality and wellbeing standards are consistently applied throughout the site lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the health and safety function on the assigned construction project.
• Advise project managers, engineers and supervisors on all safety requirements.
• Embed health and safety across planning, delivery and close‑out stages.
• Develop, review and implement safety plans, risk assessments and method statements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and provide ongoing support.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and training sessions.
• Prepare and present safety performance reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice in construction.
• Proven experience managing health and safety on large‑scale construction projects.
• Leadership and influencing skills with the ability to engage all staff levels.
• Excellent organisational, reporting and communication abilities.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Professional membership of IOSH or a similar body.
