Home Healthcare Assistant – Enhanced Home Support Service

About the role

Dovida’s Enhanced Home Support Service is looking for compassionate Home Healthcare Assistants to support people with spinal cord injuries and complex physical needs in Malahide. You will work with the same clients each week, providing skilled care that enables them to stay at home.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care such as washing, dressing and grooming with dignity.
• Perform neurogenic bowel care and catheter care, including flushing, once trained and signed off.
• Administer medications after training and sign‑off.
• Assist clients with eating, drinking and PEG‑tube feeding where required.
• Conduct skin checks and reposition clients to prevent pressure sores.
• Move and handle clients safely using hoists and specialist equipment.
• Support daily routines, meaningful activities and exercise programmes.
• Write clear care notes and report any changes in condition to the nurse or office.

Required profile

• Previous experience in home care, nursing home, hospital or similar setting.
• Calm, kind and reliable attitude with comfort working with complex needs.
• Ability to follow a care plan and write clear notes in English.
• Physical fitness to manage the demanding aspects of the role.
• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare is an advantage but not essential.

• Hourly rate €14.65–€20.70, premium for Sunday work.
