Intermediate Mechanical Engineer – Building Services

About the role
You will join a well‑established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Dublin city centre, working on high‑profile commercial, residential and data‑centre projects. As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer you will support the design and delivery of mechanical building services from concept through construction and commissioning, collaborating closely with senior engineers, project managers, architects and clients.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the design and specification of HVAC, public health and other mechanical building services systems.
- Produce engineering calculations, technical reports and design documentation.
- Develop drawings and 3D models using Revit, AutoCAD and BIM tools.
- Coordinate mechanical designs with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Participate in design meetings and liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
- Support project delivery through all stages, from concept and detailed design to construction, handover and commissioning.
- Ensure designs comply with building regulations, industry standards and sustainability requirements.
- Assist with site inspections, commissioning activities and technical troubleshooting when required.
Required profile
- Degree‑qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of experience in a building services consultancy.
- Experience on commercial, residential or data‑centre projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical building services design, including HVAC and public health systems.
- Ambition to continue professional development and work towards Chartered Engineer status.
