Junior Design Engineer

About the role

We are expanding our design team and are looking for a Junior Design Engineer to support the creation of renewable‑energy solutions for residential and commercial projects. The role is office‑based with occasional site visits and includes full training.

Key responsibilities

• Develop solar PV system designs and prepare related documentation.
• Create under‑floor heating and radiator layouts.
• Perform heat‑loss calculations for heat‑pump installations.
• Review and update electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Liaise with clients, architects, BER assessors and other consultants during the design stage.
• Ensure all designs comply with Irish Building Regulations and SEAI requirements.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Undertake any additional duties within your capability.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in a design or engineering role (preferred but not mandatory).
• Degree in mechanical, electrical or renewable‑energy engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design software.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, and experience with CRM databases.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
