Laundry & Accommodation Assistant (Linen Porter)

About the role

The Talbot Hotel Cork is seeking a motivated Laundry & Accommodation Assistant to join its busy hotel operations. Working on‑site, you will support both the laundry department and housekeeping team, ensuring guests enjoy clean linens and well‑maintained rooms.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, press and fold linens for the hotel and, when required, for partner hotels.
• Supply clean linen to guest rooms, public areas and staff quarters.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the absence of accommodation assistants, including cleaning bedrooms, corridors, bathrooms, leisure club and staff areas.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the property.
• Communicate effectively with guests to fulfil requests and ensure satisfaction.

Required profile

• Previous experience in hotel laundry or housekeeping (preferred but not essential).
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Flexibility to work weekends and shift patterns, up to 32‑39 hours per week.
• Valid driver’s licence is desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment and processes.
• Understanding of standard operating procedures for housekeeping.
