Lifting Manager

About the role

The Lifting Manager will lead all lifting and crane operations on construction sites, ensuring that every lift is planned, executed and monitored in line with the highest safety and quality standards. Reporting to senior management, you will act as the custodian of the company’s lifting procedures and drive best practice across all projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enforce company lifting standards, procedures and operational protocols.
• Plan and supervise all lifting activities, including selection of cranes, lifting gear and equipment.
• Manage a small team of local lifting assistants to guarantee high‑quality lift planning, surveillance and feedback.
• Verify accurate weights, radii, heights and ground conditions before each lift.
• Ensure proper site access, crane erection, dismantling and safe operation of tower cranes and crawlers.
• Oversee inspection, maintenance and defect reporting for all lifting equipment.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors and suppliers, securing necessary third‑party approvals and permits.
• Conduct risk assessments, method statements and lift plans, and brief the lift team on safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing lifting and crane operations on construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of tower crane types, rigging practices and lifting regulations.
• Ability to lead a small team and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.
• Attention to detail in assessing loads, ground conditions and site constraints.
