Maintenance Operative – Hotel

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our busy 4‑star hotel. You will be responsible for keeping guest rooms and public areas in top condition, ensuring a seamless experience for our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular checks of guestroom fixtures and fittings, including door locks, electric card inserts, lighting, TVs, kettles, trouser presses, plug points, window handles, curtains, mirrors, carpets and hairdryers.
• Maintain bathroom facilities, ensuring lights, sockets, valves, grout, tiles, paintwork, taps, seals, mirrors and doors are in excellent condition.
• Prioritise and manage the daily maintenance schedule to minimise disruption to hotel operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve general maintenance issues as they arise.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialist repairs when required.
• Assist with stock control of maintenance supplies, handling ordering, receipt and secure storage.
• Uphold high standards of customer service and communicate effectively with management and guests.
• Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment for staff, guests and contractors.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or similar hospitality setting.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities with the capacity to juggle multiple tasks.
• Motivated team player who maintains high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues.
