Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will work on‑site at the Jack Lynch Tunnel, ensuring the reliable operation of electrical and mechanical systems that keep the tunnel safe and functional. You will be part of a team that manages preventive and corrective maintenance, supports tunnel closures, and drives equipment upgrades.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical (MV, LV) and mechanical equipment, including ventilation and power systems.
• Record all activities in the Maintenance Management System and complete work orders promptly.
• Supervise scheduled tunnel closures and manage contractors during maintenance operations.
• Assist with CAPEX projects, equipment upgrades, and system improvements.
• Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
• Prepare and review Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS) and align work with ISO 55001, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
• Provide on‑call out‑of‑hours support on a roster basis.
• Operate patrol vehicles, support incident investigations, and produce related reports.
• Conduct civil, structural and environmental inspections as required.

Required profile

• Time‑served electrical qualification (minimum requirement).
• Experience with medium‑voltage (MV) systems is desirable.
• Ability to work on a rotating roster and provide on‑call coverage.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and quality regulations.
