Managing Director – Retail (Cork)

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced retail leader to join a respected construction brand with a long‑standing reputation in the building market. Based in Cork, the Managing Director – Retail will be responsible for driving performance across all retail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily retail operations to ensure smooth and efficient performance.
• Deliver sales, margin and profitability targets.
• Drive exceptional customer‑service standards for both retail and trade customers.
• Manage, coach and develop staff to create a high‑performance culture.
• Oversee stock control, merchandising, inventory accuracy and supplier coordination.
• Manage budgets, staffing levels and operational costs effectively.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years’ experience as a manager within a large retail environment.
• Strong commercial awareness with a proven record of meeting sales and profitability targets.
• Excellent leadership, team‑management and staff‑development skills.
• A business‑related degree is required.
• Proactive, commercially‑minded and comfortable managing both operational performance and team development.
