Mechanical Project Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading mechanical and building‑services contractor, is looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join its Dublin team. The role supports the delivery of complex mechanical building‑services projects across sectors such as pharmaceutical, data‑centres, healthcare and energy, ensuring safe, efficient and high‑quality outcomes from design through to hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret project specifications, drawings and technical requirements.
• Prepare, coordinate and track technical submittals in line with project schedules.
• Assist Project and Contracts Managers with progress monitoring and reporting.
• Monitor procurement timelines and follow up on long‑lead mechanical equipment.
• Collect as‑built information and produce red‑line drawings for design teams.
• Participate in project meetings, contribute to technical discussions and resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate project correspondence and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, industry standards and Health & Safety requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent trade background with strong project experience.
• Proven experience in mechanical building services, construction or MEP projects.
• Good understanding of project delivery processes and construction methodologies.
• Experience managing technical submittals, RFIs and project documentation.

Required skills

• Mechanical Engineering principles.
• MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems knowledge.
• Building services design and installation.
• Project documentation handling (submittals, RFIs).
