Mechanical Site Engineer

About the role

MSL Engineering Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Site Engineer to join its on‑site team in Ireland. You will work closely with the Construction Manager and Lead Engineer, ensuring mechanical works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage piping and equipment construction work packs.
• Sign off piping test packs, oversee pressure testing and post‑test activities.
• Record field welds for weld histories and include them in test packs.
• Coordinate on‑site activities between mechanical and other disciplines.
• Resolve engineering queries in the field and support the piping supervisor.
• Prepare weekly progress and variation reports for the cost engineer.
• Monitor material, fabricated pipe spools and supports to keep the project schedule.
• Collaborate with QA lead to ensure timely hand‑over of piping systems.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in construction engineering or as a trade supervisor.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical contracting, safety, quality and commercial aspects.
• Ability to work independently on a defined construction area.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
