Medico-Legal Advisor – Medical Negligence

About the role

We are seeking a Medico-Legal Advisor to join a leading professional indemnity insurer for healthcare professionals in Ireland. You will provide expert legal guidance to members facing medical, ethical and regulatory challenges, ensuring they receive timely support when it matters most.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver advice on medical, ethical and legal dilemmas through a 24/7 helpline.
• Develop and maintain risk‑management education, training programmes and resources.
• Assist members throughout civil litigation, Medical Council complaints and inquests.
• Monitor and interpret new legislation, regulations and case law to keep members informed.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance service delivery and member experience.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of medico‑legal experience within Ireland.
• Resilient, empathetic and detail‑driven with a strong commitment to supporting healthcare professionals.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle high‑pressure situations.
• Willingness to work a hybrid schedule and adapt to a potential permanent role.
