Part-Time School Bus Driver

About the role

JJ Kavanagh is seeking School Bus Drivers to cover local school runs across Kilkenny and Waterford. It is a part-time, term-time-only role of about 20 to 30 hours per week, with morning and afternoon runs and no late nights, suited to semi-retired drivers or anyone wanting school-hour work only.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled school pick-up and drop-off runs safely and on time
• Ensure the wellbeing and safety of all passengers on board
• Carry out routine vehicle checks before and after each run
• Maintain a courteous, professional manner with students, parents and school staff
• Report any vehicle or route issues promptly

Required profile

• Valid Category D or D1 driving licence (essential)
• Garda vetting required before starting
• Reliable, punctual and responsible approach

• Good communication skills
• Friendly manner
