Procurement Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading international main contractor, is seeking a Procurement Manager to join their team in either Maynooth or Newry. The role will drive procurement strategy and commercial success for high‑value construction projects across Ireland and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for major construction projects.
• Lead tendering, evaluation and negotiation of subcontract packages.
• Manage supplier and subcontractor pre‑qualification and selection processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key supply‑chain partners.
• Collaborate with commercial, estimating and project teams to align procurement with project objectives.
• Analyse commercial risks and identify opportunities to improve value and supply‑chain performance.
• Negotiate commercial terms and support execution of subcontract agreements.
• Monitor procurement performance, market trends and supplier capability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes.
• Support development of long‑term strategic supplier relationships.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a recognised main contractor environment.
• Strong understanding of procurement, subcontract management and commercial processes.
• Proven track record of procuring major construction packages on complex projects.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build lasting relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
