Project Manager – Renewable Energy (Solar & BESS)

About the role

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead utility‑scale solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across Ireland. Based in Leixlip, you will join a fast‑growing EPC team backed by an international green‑energy leader, managing projects from tender through to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full project lifecycle, from award and design to commissioning and client handover.
• Lead procurement and tendering activities, analysing documents, identifying risks and coordinating responses.
• Serve as the primary client contact during construction, managing FIDIC contracts, variations and claims.
• Coordinate civil, electrical and mechanical subcontractors and internal engineering resources to meet milestones.
• Develop and maintain realistic project schedules using MS Project.
• Conduct site visits (approximately two days per week) to monitor progress and quality.
• Track budgets and cash flow, ensuring profitability and preparing regular progress reports for senior management.
• Collaborate with the German team, receiving mentorship and attending specialist training in Germany.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in project management or a technical role (e.g., QS, engineering, cost engineering) within renewables, energy or civil engineering.
• Background in large‑scale infrastructure EPC, preferably solar PV or BESS.
• Proven ability to manage contracts, variations and client relationships.
• Willingness to travel to sites and work on‑site during construction phases.
