Risk and Policy Officer

About the role

The Irish Red Cross Society is seeking a Risk and Policy Officer to support its risk management, policy control and internal audit functions. Working closely with the Head of Compliance and Legal Affairs, you will help ensure that risk and audit activities are centrally coordinated and documented.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the organisation’s document base for risk management, policies, procedures and internal audit.
• Act as an admin user on RedFlare, the online risk management tool.
• Provide administrative support to the Audit and Risk Committee, including pack preparation and minute drafting.
• Assist in the implementation of the risk management plan and internal audit plan.
• Prepare draft tender requests for internal audit projects and serve as a first point of contact for audit stakeholders.
• Support compliance work related to volunteer and staff initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in report writing, analysis and stakeholder engagement.
• High attention to detail and strong written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a compliance team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with RedFlare or similar risk‑management software (as an admin user).

What we offer

• 24‑month fixed‑term full‑time contract.
• Salary range €39,500 – €41,000 per year, dependent on experience.
