Safety Advisor – Demolition & Decommissioning

About the role
We are seeking a Safety Advisor to join the team on a major demolition and decommissioning project at the Marina Generation Station in Cork. The role goes beyond traditional site safety, focusing on contractor assurance, asbestos management, demolition risk, stakeholder engagement and compliance monitoring.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a visible safety presence on‑site, supporting the Client Site Manager.
- Monitor contractor health, safety and environment (HSE) compliance and review RAMS and permits for high‑risk activities.
- Support audits, inspections and safety walks, and report on safety performance, trends and emerging risks.
- Facilitate learning from incidents, near‑misses and good catches.
- Oversee environmental compliance, waste management and liaison on asbestos removal activities.
Required profile
- Minimum 10 years HSE experience on large construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and asbestos management/removal regulations.
- Proven stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities.
- Ability to work independently on‑site.
- Level 7 H&S qualification (or equivalent).
