Senior Data Scientist

About the role

Primark is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join its Data Science & Measurement team. You will work closely with business stakeholders to turn complex data into actionable insights that drive commercial value.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and deployment of machine‑learning, optimisation and measurement solutions.
• Build and maintain scalable data‑science products such as predictive models, forecasting tools, segmentation, recommendation engines and experimentation frameworks.
• Develop robust analytical datasets and production‑ready ML pipelines using Databricks, Python, SQL and Spark.
• Partner with stakeholders to define hypotheses, success metrics and translate insights into commercial recommendations.
• Lead experimentation and measurement initiatives using statistical and causal‑inference techniques.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, sharing best practices.
• Contribute to the data‑science roadmap and innovate retail‑focused solutions.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of hands‑on experience delivering machine‑learning, statistical modelling, optimisation and advanced analytics in a commercial environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to communicate technical results to non‑technical audiences.
• Proven track record of turning data insights into measurable business outcomes.
