Senior Director, Commercial Quality

About the role

The Senior Director, Commercial Quality will lead the development and implementation of quality standards for Abiomed's commercial and distribution activities worldwide. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures compliance with J&J standards while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multiple workstreams to implement J&J compliance for commercial operations, 3PL logistics, storage, distribution, transportation, kitting, and product returns.
• Recommend and drive fit‑for‑purpose quality controls globally, covering material and product controls.
• Manage the Abiomed Commercial Quality execution across regions, overseeing the QA Director Japan and senior managers in EMEA and APAC.
• Focus on Field Action, Distributor Management, and Distribution Control.
• Oversee quality aspects of the capital project relocating manufacturing and office operations to Peabody, MA, including material receiving, inbound inspection, post‑sterile inspection, field service, and outbound shipping.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in commercial quality within a global medical‑device environment.
• Strong ability to manage cross‑functional teams across multiple regions.
• Track record of implementing compliance programs for distribution and logistics.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, especially with senior quality and operations leaders.
