Senior Engineer – Site Management for ESB Projects

About the role

A senior engineer is needed to lead site‑based activities for a multi‑disciplinary civil engineering and utilities contractor in Dublin. The role focuses on overseeing ESB‑related works across multiple locations, ensuring safe and on‑schedule delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day site operations for ESB and utilities projects.
• Coordinate site managers, teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with ESB standards, permits, RAMS and health & safety requirements.
• Liaise with ESB representatives and internal project stakeholders.
• Monitor programme progress and report to senior management.
• Maintain quality standards and deliver works to specification.
• Keep accurate site records and documentation.

Required profile

• Relevant Irish construction or engineering qualification (advantageous but not essential).
• Minimum 2 years experience on ESB or utilities projects.
• Proven site management experience in civils or utilities.
• Strong knowledge of ESB safety systems and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing live construction environments and subcontractor teams.
• Safepass, Manual Handling certification, and a full clean driving licence.
