Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are a leading international MEP design consultancy seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. The role involves managing medium‑size projects and acting as the primary client liaison throughout design, coordination and delivery of mechanical building services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and coordination for data‑centre projects, including HVAC and cooling systems for mission‑critical environments.
• Develop and specify controls, instrumentation and operating systems for building engineering services.
• Conduct surveys, testing and reporting on existing mechanical installations.
• Ensure manufacturing, construction, installation and operational testing comply with project specifications and client requirements.
• Manage day‑to‑day project decisions and provide technical guidance directly to clients.
• Represent the consultancy at technical meetings with clients, professional teams and contractors.
• Perform engineering calculations to verify compliance with industry regulations and legal standards.
• Review and oversee technical accuracy of work produced by graduate and trainee engineers.
• Validate and check engineering designs and specifications.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Building Services Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Minimum seven (7) years of hands‑on HVAC design experience across high‑rise, hotel, commercial, mixed‑use and data‑centre projects.
• Experience on projects in the UAE and/or the UK is advantageous.
• Proven experience within the building services engineering design industry.
• Strong understanding of international standards (UK standards, ASHRAE, CIBSE) and British Standards.
• Competence in specification writing and detailed design for multiple building types.
• Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
• Strong organisational and workload prioritisation skills with ability to work under project deadlines.

What we offer

• Competitive salary €65,000 – €75,000 depending on experience.
