Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will join the Irish business within the Engineering Department, leading the design and delivery of mechanical systems for a variety of projects. Based in Dublin, the role involves close collaboration with internal teams, customers, utilities and contractors to ensure compliant, sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design of HVAC, plumbing, public‑health and energy systems, ensuring compliance with Irish Building Regulations and sustainability standards.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, specifications, reports and detailed drawings.
• Manage projects from concept through commissioning, overseeing budgets, scope and quality.
• Coordinate with mechanical, architectural, civil and process disciplines and support tender, procurement and value‑engineering activities.
• Conduct site inspections, review contractor submittals and assist with testing, commissioning and handover.

Required profile

• Degree or Level 7/8 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 10+ years post‑qualification experience in mechanical design, preferably on projects in Ireland or the EU.
• Strong knowledge of Irish building and health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Experience in sectors such as renewable energy, pharmaceutical, commercial developments or data centres is advantageous.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or progress towards accreditation is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Revit (BIM).
• Experience using mechanical design software such as IES.
