Senior Software Apps Engineer - Android

About the role

Yahoo Mail is looking for a Senior Software Apps Engineer focused on Android to help shape the next generation of consumer email experiences. You will work within a high‑performing team that delivers a 4.5‑star app used by hundreds of millions worldwide, building features that impact millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Define, design, and develop complex new features for current and future Yahoo Mail products.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor peers, and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
• Solve challenging engineering and user‑experience problems with elegant, seamless solutions.
• Lead development and implementation of mobile application areas that affect a large user base.
• Partner with UX designers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver new features, enhancements, platform improvements, and bug fixes.
• Write testable, reliable code and continuously deploy to production systems.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
