Setting Out Engineer

About the role

Tantek 4D is seeking a Setting Out Engineer to join its on‑site team in Sligo. You will be responsible for accurately setting out and surveying construction works, ensuring they align with design models and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings, 3D models and BIM data to establish set‑out points.
• Use total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment and laser levels to verify site levels and dimensions.
• Coordinate with site management, subcontractors and project managers to maintain alignment with construction schedules.
• Record set‑out data, conduct quality checks and produce as‑built surveys and reports.
• Support the integration of BIM and geospatial workflows on‑site.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering or surveying qualification (e.g., Civil Engineering, Geomatics) or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, tolerances and quality standards, particularly in data centre, life‑science or commercial projects.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental best practices on active construction sites.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Full driving licence and eligibility to work on‑site in Sligo and elsewhere in Ireland as required.
