Site Engineer – Galway

About the role

We are seeking a Site Engineer to support a leading main contractor on construction projects in Galway. The role involves assisting the Senior Engineer with design review, programme coordination and on‑site activities to ensure smooth project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Senior Engineer with design review and programme coordination
• Assist in planning short and long‑term site activities and adapting to programme changes
• Liaise daily with the Senior Engineer and site team to ensure clear priorities and information flow
• Ensure timely availability of design information to support construction progress
• Carry out setting out and dimensional control under guidance from the Senior Engineer
• Assist with preparation of technical submissions within required deadlines
• Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and support quality assurance processes
• Contribute to method statements and risk assessments with a focus on safe systems of work
• Carry out site inspections and maintain accurate site records and diaries
• Flag design coordination issues promptly and attend design meetings as required
• Support implementation of quality control procedures and ensure contractor compliance
• Assist with snagging, NCR tracking, and close‑out of defects to support handover
• Contribute to lessons learned and project close‑out documentation
• Support subcontractor account close‑out where required
