Site Manager – Major Residential & Mixed‑Use Projects in Galway

About the role

Our client, one of Ireland's leading Tier 1 main contractors, is looking for an experienced Site Manager to join their Galway team. You will lead the delivery of high‑value residential and mixed‑use schemes, including the €63 m Coolough Student Accommodation and the Crown Square development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring safety, programme adherence and quality standards.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, direct labour and site personnel.
• Ensure compliance with Irish Health & Safety legislation, company procedures, RAMS and site inductions.
• Monitor progress against the programme, identify and resolve delays.
• Maintain quality assurance through inspections, ITPs and QA documentation.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and design team.
• Organise site logistics, material deliveries and sequencing.
• Keep accurate site records, daily diaries and progress reports.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, local authorities and other stakeholders.
• Promote a positive safety culture and high standards of workmanship.

Required profile

• Construction‑related degree or equivalent qualification.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Site Manager with a main contractor in Ireland or the UK.
• Proven delivery of projects valued at €10 m+.
• Experience on residential, student accommodation, commercial or mixed‑use developments is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and quality management systems.
• Excellent leadership, organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors while meeting programme and quality goals.
