Staff Nurse – Community Residential Services

About the role

Avista is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join its Community Residential Services team in Limerick. You will provide person‑centred nursing care to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, supporting their health, wellbeing and daily living needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care in line with HIQA standards and the PCP framework.
• Coordinate with external agencies, PHNs, GPs and acute hospitals to ensure comprehensive health support.
• Manage a caseload of individuals, conducting assessments, medication administration and health monitoring.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Respond to behaviours of concern and complex care needs with appropriate interventions.

Required profile

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Proven organisational, leadership and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Full clean manual Irish driving licence with access to a vehicle.
• Fluent English language proficiency.
