Staff Nurse – Paediatric Emergency Medicine

About the role

Children’s Health Ireland is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join its Paediatric Emergency Medicine team. You will deliver high‑quality, child‑focused care within a busy Emergency Department, supporting families during urgent situations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to children and families across all areas of the Emergency Department.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective patient management.
• Lead a designated nursing team, acting as a clinical role model and ensuring high standards of care.
• Assist in departmental management, resource allocation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Undertake delegated responsibilities in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Required profile

• Registered Children’s Nurse with Emergency Department experience, or Registered General Nurse with acute paediatric emergency experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Registered nursing qualification (Children’s Nurse or General Nurse).
• Experience in paediatric emergency care.
