Technical Director

About the role

Egis, a global leader in infrastructure consultancy, is seeking a Technical Director (or Associate Director) to provide strategic leadership for its transportation infrastructure portfolio in Ireland. The role involves senior programme management, technical oversight, resource planning and high‑level client engagement across complex, multidisciplinary projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with sustainability and climate objectives.
• Oversee programme budgets, schedules and risk management, driving successful outcomes for public transport and active travel initiatives.
• Mentor and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Optimize resource allocation across the portfolio and support business planning activities.
• Build and maintain senior client relationships, representing Egis at executive meetings and stakeholder forums.

Required profile

• Chartered Engineer status with at least 15 years of experience in transportation infrastructure engineering.
• Proven senior leadership experience in managing large, complex programmes.
• Strong business development and client‑facing capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor teams and drive sustainable transport solutions.
