The Discipline of Physiotherapy at Trinity College Dublin is seeking an Academic Clinical Specialist to expand placement capacity and support practice education. The role combines clinical supervision, placement development, teaching, and research within a four‑year fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to physiotherapy students on placement.
• Develop and project‑manage innovative placement models to increase capacity.
• Coordinate with practice educators across multiple clinical sites.
• Contribute to university‑based teaching and academic administration related to practice education.
• Engage in research activities, particularly in practice‑education methodology.

Required profile

• Registered physiotherapist with substantial clinical experience.
• Demonstrated experience in physiotherapy education or placement coordination.
• Strong project‑management and organisational abilities.
• Willingness to travel regularly between St. James’s Hospital and external placement sites.
• Commitment to academic research and contribution to the discipline’s scholarly output.
