Bar Manager

About the role

The Kingsley is seeking an enthusiastic Bar Manager to lead a dynamic team under the direction of F&B Director Rodrigo De Fino Bender. You will be responsible for elevating the bar experience through innovative concepts, high‑quality service, and strong operational control.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day bar operations, including staffing, cash handling and end‑of‑day reporting.
• Recruit, train, appraise and recognise bar staff, fostering career development and a high‑standard of grooming.
• Manage inventory, monitor stock levels, place orders and implement waste‑reduction measures.
• Ensure compliance with RSA regulations, alcohol licensing and health & safety standards.
• Develop and execute events such as pre‑drinks, cocktail parties, weddings and hotel functions.
• Drive social‑media presence for the bar with videos and posts.
• Handle customer complaints, maintain service standards and support promotional activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a bar management role.
• In‑depth knowledge of spirits, beers, wines, cocktails and liqueurs.
• RSA certification and thorough understanding of responsible alcohol service.
• Proven ability to meet beverage gross profit targets and manage payroll percentages.
• Strong people‑management skills with a focus on team strengths and development.
