Civil Engineer – Design & BIM Specialist

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to join its transport solutions team in Ireland. The role involves designing, checking and delivering civil and structural design solutions for transport infrastructure projects, while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review civil engineering solutions, producing drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Generate and maintain BIM and 3‑D models to support integrated project delivery.
• Collaborate with civil, station and cross‑disciplinary experts to provide cohesive design outcomes.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous professional development.
• Manage project budgets, schedules and resources to ensure cost‑effective delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience in general civil/structural engineering.
• Degree qualified in Engineering or a related field.
• Chartered status or working towards chartered professional status.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities within multicultural, multidisciplinary teams.
• Enthusiastic attitude towards new challenges and career development.
