Contracts Manager – R&D Facility (Thermal Management)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the contractual aspects of a capital investment project to design and build a new R&D facility focused on thermal‑management technologies. The role will oversee contract development, negotiation and governance from design through construction, commissioning and operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the contracting strategy, selecting appropriate contract models and ensuring alignment with corporate procurement policies.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts with contractors, consultants, suppliers and specialist engineering consultants.
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks, manage cost control, schedule adherence and quality delivery.
• Lead resolution of commercial disputes, claims and variations in collaboration with Legal and project leadership.
• Monitor contractor performance against KPIs, SLAs and contractual obligations, and manage change processes for scope, cost and schedule adjustments.
• Collaborate with internal workstreams (Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Legal, HR) and act as the primary point of contact for contractual matters with main contractors and key suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards and internal audit requirements, maintaining accurate and auditable contract documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Contract Manager or Commercial Manager on large‑scale capital projects.
• Strong background in construction, engineering or industrial projects, ideally within HVAC, thermal systems or manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with legal, finance and engineering teams to deliver commercial outcomes.
