Data Center Operations Integration Technician

About the role

The Data Centre Operations Integration Technician will act as the bridge between construction teams and site operations, ensuring that new data centre builds are handed over safely and efficiently. Reporting to the Operational Integration Supervisor, the role focuses on risk mitigation, technical knowledge transfer, and the creation of operational documentation.

Key responsibilities

  • Integrate new data‑centre buildings into the existing Site Operations environment.
  • Develop in‑depth knowledge of all technical systems installed in the new builds.
  • Produce and maintain operational documentation (EOPs, SOPs, MOPs, drill procedures) that meets client standards.
  • Audit subcontractor work, challenge non‑conformities, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Create switching schedules and coordinate shutdowns with Technical Supervisors.
  • Conduct business, operational, and health‑and‑safety risk assessments and implement control measures.
  • Approve CMOPs and method statements, attend shutdowns, isolations, and commissioning activities.
  • Generate technical reports for the Transition Team and client, and report hazards through the established process.
  • Act as the operational advocate during start‑up and commissioning meetings, walk‑downs, and integration sessions.
  • Support vendor training programmes, manage snagging/defect reporting, warranty processes, and critical spares assessment.

Required profile

  • Fully verifiable trade qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in data‑centre construction handover or similar technical integration environments.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within a data‑centre context.
  • Ability to produce clear, consistent documentation and communicate effectively with both technical and client stakeholders.
  • Professional demeanor representing CBRE to clients and visitors.

Required skills

  • Knowledge of data‑centre technical systems and infrastructure.
  • Ability to develop and maintain operational documentation (EOPs, SOPs, MOPs, drill procedures).
  • Experience creating and managing switching schedules and shutdown procedures.
  • Competence in conducting risk assessments and implementing control measures.
  • Familiarity with reviewing and approving CMOPs and method statements.
