Defect/Integration Engineer
analogdevices · Limerick
Job description
About the role
Analog Devices is looking for a motivated, curious and agile Defect/Integration Engineer to join its Limerick team. The role covers layer (module) ownership, defect reduction and yield improvement, and offers wide learning across all fab areas. The Limerick Fab is expanding its wafer fab by 2X and increasing output by 3X by 2026. The position is experienced level, 1st shift days, with about 10% travel.
Key responsibilities
- Drive defect reduction and yield improvement projects for your layers, identifying the top Pareto items affecting defect density and working with workcentres to completion.
- Use SPC to monitor and control inline defects, keeping control limits accurate so genuine issues are flagged and false out-of-control signals are avoided.
- Handle excursion detection, fast response and containment, and maintain inspection recipes to keep nuisance detections low and capture rates high.
- Collaborate with process, equipment, product, manufacturing and quality teams to resolve defects quickly and prevent recurrence.
- Manage defect-reduction projects end to end, scoping them, setting realistic timelines and bringing the right people on board.
Required profile
- Excellent problem-solving and data-analysis skills, with a sense of urgency and the ability to handle several tasks and projects at once.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Good understanding of statistics and process integration, including how layers and process tools interact and the importance of a good process window.
- Ability to read and interpret wafer cross-sections (FIB, SEM, TEM, EDX); performing SEM and FIB analysis is a bonus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex problems clearly and concisely.
Required skills
- Root cause analysis and design of experiments.
- SPC and statistical process control.
- Data mining with Klarity Defect, SAS, JMP and ACE; Python is a bonus.
- ACE for defect-yield correlation.
