Deputy Principal – Operations

About the role

St Patrick’s Primary School is seeking a Deputy Principal (Operations) to partner with the School Principal in delivering strategic leadership and overseeing day‑to‑day operations. The role ensures the school’s vision, Catholic ethos and high standards of safety and learning are consistently achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Principal in strategic planning and implementation of school initiatives.
• Manage and coordinate all operational functions, including facilities, resources, and compliance with Child Safe standards.
• Oversee staff scheduling, timetabling and the delivery of a safe learning environment.
• Lead continuous improvement processes, coaching and mentoring of staff.
• Ensure effective communication with students, families, and the wider community.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and act operationally.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities with attention to detail.
• Commitment to the Catholic faith and to fostering a supportive school culture.
• Willingness to engage in self‑reflection, coaching and peer collaboration.

Required skills

• Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
• Proficient ICT skills.
• Knowledge of primary school operational requirements.
• Accreditation to teach Religious Education.
• Understanding of current Child Safe standards and policies.
