Design Engineer – Electrical (Mid‑Senior)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Design Engineer to join our mechanical & electrical consultancy in Arklow, Co. Wicklow. The role offers the chance to lead electrical design initiatives, work on a variety of commercial, residential and light‑industrial projects, and shape the future growth of the company.

Key responsibilities

• Attend design team meetings and represent the company.
• Lead electrical design standards and ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Create electrical drafts and designs using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Prepare design calculations, specifications and detailed reports.
• Produce outline and detailed construction drawings.
• Conduct feasibility studies and investigative reports.
• Perform periodic site visits for inspections, snagging and verification.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
• 2–5 years of relevant electrical design experience.
• Team player with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Financially astute with good planning and organisational abilities.
• Highly motivated, proactive and eager to take on new challenges.
• Willingness to learn and improve service delivery.
• Trade background (e.g., electrician) is welcomed.
