Design Manager – Large‑Scale Housing Projects

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing Irish property development and construction group, is looking for a Design Manager to lead design coordination on large‑scale housing projects in Kildare. You will be the central point of contact for all design matters during the construction phase, ensuring technical robustness, buildability and programme compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage design information across multidisciplinary teams on live projects.
• Chair design coordination meetings and oversee document control.
• Resolve on‑site design clashes and ensure BCAR compliance.
• Handle RFIs, technical submissions and drawing revisions.
• Collaborate with Head of Design Management, contracts managers, consultants and subcontractors to deliver value‑driven construction solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Design Coordinator or Senior Design Coordinator.
• Proven experience in construction‑stage design coordination for residential, commercial or mixed‑use developments.
• Strong understanding of BCAR processes and Irish Building Regulations.
