Director, IT Finance & Controlling (FICO)

About the role

Gilead is seeking a strategic and highly experienced Director to lead the global delivery, support, and transformation of its enterprise finance systems. The role focuses on SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI/CO) and end‑to‑end Record‑to‑Report processes, partnering closely with Finance leadership to drive digital transformation and ensure stable, compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a global team responsible for SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI/CO) support, enhancements, and roadmap execution.
• Own and continuously improve end‑to‑end finance processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Product Costing and COPA.
• Develop and execute solution strategy to ensure system stability and scalability across a complex ecosystem.
• Collaborate with Finance leadership to enable digital transformation and optimize financial processes.
• Deliver compliant, scalable solutions and act as the primary point of contact for finance system governance.
• Report to the Senior Director, ERP Finance & Commercial Enterprise Solutions.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience managing global SAP finance teams.
• Deep understanding of finance and controlling processes and best practices.
• Track record of driving digital transformation initiatives in large, integrated environments.
• Strong partnership skills with finance and IT stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
