Director of Spa & Wellness

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Spa & Wellness to lead the spa operations at Carton House, a five‑star Fairmont resort in Ireland. The role combines strategic oversight, guest experience excellence, and team leadership to uphold the highest standards of service.

Key responsibilities

• Set and maintain elite etiquette and service standards for all guest and staff interactions.
• Develop and execute Spa & Wellness objectives across operations, finance, people management and marketing.
• Oversee day‑to‑day spa operations, ensuring compliance with SOPs, health and hygiene guidelines.
• Recruit, train, mentor and manage a team of spa professionals, fostering accountability and alignment with business goals.
• Monitor daily activities, address issues promptly and drive continuous improvement.
• Stay informed on service offerings, pricing, specials and competitor activity.
• Coordinate housekeeping and maintenance needs to ensure timely resolution.
• Promote product knowledge and retail sales among team members.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience within the Spa & Wellness sector, preferably in a 5‑star resort.
• Flexibility to work full‑time, including shift work and weekends.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Outgoing, confident demeanor with a customer‑focused attitude.
• Organised, structured approach to planning and execution.
