Director – Water Sector

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking a Director to lead its Water business in Ireland. The role will drive growth, win new contracts and ensure successful delivery of large‑scale water projects, while developing the capabilities of the team and improving internal processes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities, leading bid and proposal activities for projects above £400k/€400k.
• Manage high‑value bids, ensuring alignment with client requirements, appropriate pricing and invoicing milestones.
• Act as Project Director for major packages, delivering projects on time, within budget and in compliance with contractual and legal standards.
• Oversee financial performance of a significant portfolio of water projects in Ireland.
• Provide technical leadership, share expertise internally and represent SYSTRA at industry events.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, modelling expected behaviours and fostering a collaborative culture.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in the water sector, preferably within infrastructure or construction.
• Track record of winning and delivering projects exceeding £400k/€400k.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage large‑scale budgets.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor teams.
