Duty Manager – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Duty Manager ensures the smooth, day‑to‑day operation of all hotel departments while delivering the highest standard of guest service. Working in a fast‑paced environment, the role requires proactive problem‑solving and the ability to lead a diverse team across front‑office, food & beverage, and accommodation areas.

Key responsibilities

• Arrive on time in proper uniform, following company grooming standards.
• Conduct handovers with the previous and next shift managers, ensuring continuity of service.
• Coordinate with the General Manager on daily hotel operations and support each department as needed.
• Communicate hotel facilities, opening hours, internet access, and luggage assistance to guests during check‑in and throughout their stay.
• Perform occasional shifts within specific departments (F&B, reception, housekeeping) to maintain operational insight.
• Monitor staffing levels with department heads, ensuring budgets and service standards are met.
• Assist with weekly stock counts for laundry, alcohol, food, and cutlery as directed.
• Handle guest complaints promptly and courteously.
• Participate in meetings, training sessions, and routine fire, health, safety, and security checks.
• Ensure cash handling procedures and HACCP standards are strictly followed.
